You can add Text to your document with a tap by using the Text Tool ic-text icon. Tap the tool icon in the Toolbar or press

on your external keyboard. This will activate the Text Mode, and the context-sensitive Text section will appear automatically at the top of the Style Tab.

Then, tap anywhere on the canvas. A bounding box containing the word "Text" will appear on your canvas. You can start writing using the digital or external keyboard.

Import text

You can directly import text from external websites or other software applications into Linearity Curve (formerly Vectornator).

Select the text – Click for 3 seconds on the first word of the paragraph you wish to copy. In the popup menu, tap Copy to copy the currently marked text or tap Select All to copy the whole paragraph. Now the selected text is saved in the clipboard of your iPad.

Paste the text into Linearity Curve – Activate the Text Tool first and tap the text box. In the pop-up menu, tap Paste to copy the saved text of your clipboard into the text box.

Adding SF Symbols

To import SF Symbols into your document, open the Tab, and then open the SF Symbols Tab by tapping on the icon at the bottom right. Then, type a keyword into the Search Bar at the top of the Import Tab.

Then, you can scroll down your search results and tap on a symbol to immediately import it onto your selected Artboard.

SF Symbols are text objects, which means they support all font weights: To change, use the font-weight selector in the text section of the Inspector.

SF Symbols are defined as text characters, meaning you can easily vectorize them with the Outline Text feature.

Usage of Sf Symbols

You can use Apple's SF Symbols library for free in your projects (over 4.4K icons are available), but you cannot use these icons outside the Apple ecosystem and for commercial use of icons or logos.

You may not use SF Symbols — or glyphs that are substantially or confusingly similar — in your app icons, logos, or any other trademark-related use. Apple reserves the right to review and, in its sole discretion, require modification or discontinuance of the use of any Symbol used in violation of the preceding restrictions, and you agree to comply with any such request promptly. Apart from that, there’s also a list of symbols that can only be used to reference particular Apple technologies, like for AirPods, Airplay, Apple Watch, and so on.

Emojis can add a fun aspect and spark to your designs, allowing more emotive and fun creations.

This level of freedom and expression is available in Linearity Curve directly inside the text editor. Any emoji can be added just like any other text element.
